MDI Girls Beat Washington Academy 66-43 [STATS]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team took the long bus ride to East Machias on Friday, January 16th, coming home with a 66-43 win.

MDI jumped out to a 20-10 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter led by Avery Norwood with 10 points, Lilli Hanf with 5 points and Ella Watson with 4 points. Meadow Rohde had all of the Raiders 10 points.

MDI then outscored Washington Academy 16-2 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 36-12 lead. Hanf had 7 points for MDI

The Trojans led 51-27 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

MDI was led by Avery Norwood with 23 points including 3 3-pointers. Lilli Hanf had 15 points with a pair of 3's. Ella Watson ha d10 points. Lilly Norwood drained a pair of 3-pointers and Briella McIntire scored her 1st varsity points. MDI was 11-17 from the free throw line.

Washington Academy was led by Meadow Rohde with 16 points and a 3-pointer. Grace Howard, Daneah Neptune-Milano, Kaliegha Poor and Chloe Mclaughlin each had a 3-pointer for the Raiders. Washington Academy was 10-18 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 10-3 and wake up in 3rd place in the Class B Northern Maine Girls Heal Point Standings. They will play at home against the Old Town Coyotes on Wednesday, January 21st at 7 p.m.

Washington Academy is now 3-8 and in 11th place in the Class C Northern Maine Girls Heat Point Standings, with the top-10 qualifying for the Tournament. They play Sumner on Monday, January 19th.
