MDI Girls Basketball Triumphs Over Belfast Lions In Bar Harbor

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team exploded for 77 points, with 32 points in the 1st Quarter alone, as they beat the Belfast Lions 77-38 in Bar Harbor on Thursday, January 8th.

The Trojans drained 12 3-pointers, 8 in the 1st Quarter alone as they led 32-11 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 56-18 at the Half. MDI was up 67-29 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Lily Norwood led the Trojans with 15 points on 5 3-pointes, 4 of them in the 1st Quarter. Lilli Hanf had 14 points with pair of 3-pointers. Avery Norwood had 13 points with a pair of 3-pointers. Calleigh Trenhom had 8 points with a pair of 3's. Cate Brown had a 3-pointer. MDI was 1-2 from the free throw line.

Belfast was led by Julianna Sprague who had 15 points with 3 3-pointes. Camilla Coleman had 9 points with a 3-pointer. The Lions were 4-6 from the free throw line.

Belfast is now 4-5. They will play at Oceanside against the Mariners on Saturday, January 10th at 5 p.m.
