MDI Girls Basketball Team Falls To Old Town Coyotes

The MDI Girls Basketball Team fell to the Old Town Coyotes 51-38 in Bar Harbor on Thursday, January 22nd, as the Trojans wore their pink Breast Cancer Awareness uniforms.

The game was tied 11-11 at the end of the 1st Quarter but Old Town went on a 13-0 run, to start the 2nd Quarter. MDI didn't score until there was 4:15 left in the Quarter. Old Town outscored MDI 17-6 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 28-17 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Old Town extended their lead, in the 3td Quarter, outscoring MDI 14-10 to lead 42-27.

MDI was led by Avery Norwood with 9 points. Lilli Hanf had 8 points and Cassidy Dunbar had 7 points. Lily Norwood had 2 3-pointers. The Trojans were 4-6 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Emma Ketch with 16 points who was dominant in the paint. Taylor Loring had 15 points with 2 4-pointers. Grade Madden and Taylor Madden each had a 3-pointer. The Coyotes were 3-4 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 10-4 and return to the court on Friday night, January 23rd when they will host Presque Isle, with the game set to tip-off at 7 p.m. The Trojans are now 5th in the Class B North Girls Heal Point Standings.

Old Town is now 11-4 and in 2nd place in the Class B North Girls Heal Point Standings. They will host Caribou on Saturday, January 24th.
