MDI Girls Basketball Falls to Washington Academy 38-31

The MDI Girls Basketball Team fell to Washington Academy 38-31 in East Machias on Thursday, January 16th.

MDI led 8-4 at the end of the 1st Quarter and trailed 18-16 at the end of the 1st Half. The Raiders led 24-20 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

MDI was led by Lexi Tozier who had 12 points. Lily Norwood had 6 points with a 3-pointer and Lilli Hanf had 6 points. MDI was 14-20 from the free throw line.

Washington Academy was led by Meadow Rhode who had 9 points. Grace Howard had 8points including a 3-pointer. Washington Academy was 7-20 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 7-4. They will host John Bapst on Saturday, January 16th. The game tipsoff at 2:30 p.m. with the pregame beginning at 2:10 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Washington Academy is now 6-7. They will host Presque Isle on Monday, January 20th at 3:30 p.m.
