MDI Girls Rain Down 14 3’s to Beat Houlton 74-24 [STATS]

The MDI Girls Basketball Team rained down 14 3-pointers on Friday afternoon, December 27th, beating the Houlton Shiretowners 74-24 up in Houlton

MDI hit  5 3's in the 1st Quarter to race out to a 17-9 lead. After hitting 5 more 3-pointers in the 2nd Quarter, the Trojans led 38-14 at the end of the 1st Half. MDI led 54-18 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Lily Norwood led all scorers, dropping 19 points, with 5 3-pointers. Lilli Hanf had 11 points with 3 3-pointers. Ella Watson had 9 points with a 3-pointeer. Calleigh Trenholm had 2 3-pointers. Cate Brown, Addy Dowsland and Blake Thieken each had a 3-pointer. MDI was 4-8 from the free throw line.

Houlton was led by Tori Ervin with 10 points. Keegan Brown had  points. Reagan Wright and Brown each had a 3-pointer. The Shiretowners were 4-17 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 3-1. They will host Hermon on Monday night, December 30th at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 with the pregame starting at 6:45 p.m. That game will also be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Houlton is 1-6 They will travel down to play Ellsworth on Monday night, December 30th at 6 p.m.
