It was a tale of 2 halves, at the Camden Hills Windjammers beat MDI 28-16 on Friday afternoon, September 15th at Camden Hills High School.

Camden Hills won the coin-toss and elected to defer, giving MDI the ball 1st. After kicking off and a great return, MDI took over on the Windjammer 47 yard line.

It took just 8 plays and 4:24 and MDI took a 8-0 lead, on a 25 yard touchdown pass from Spencer Laurendeau to Cal Hodgdon with the 2-point conversion successful.

Camden Hills took over on their 36 yard line and was forced to punt.

MDI took over on their 38 yard line and was forced to punt.

Camden Hills took over on their own 49 yard line and was forced to punt.

MDI took over on their own 20 yard line with 11:44 left in the 1st Half. They marched down the field, but their drive sputtered on the Camden Hills 30 yard line, when they turned the ball over on downs.

Camden Hills march down the field, scoring with 5;27 left in the 1st Half. Owen Reynolds ran in from 4 yards out. The drive took 2:41. But the Windjammers were not able to convert the 2-point try, and MDI led 8-6.

After taking over on their own 42, the Trojans marched down to the Windjammers4 yard line .But, they weren't able to punch it into the end zone, as time ran out in the 1st Half.

MDI led 8-6. The Trojans outgained the Windjammers 129 yards to 72 yards in the 1st Half. Camden Hill outpassed MDI 55 yards to 50 yards.

But, the 2nd Half belonged to the Windjammers as they controlled the clock. Camden Hills had the ball 17 minutes and 34 seconds compared to MDI's 6 minutes and 26 seconds. It's hard to score when you don't have the ball, and there aren't any turnovers.

Camden Hills had the ball to start the 2nd Half, and took over on their own 46 yard line. It took them 4:27 and they took the lead on a 12 yard pass from William Haslam to Isaac Dutille. The 2-point conversion was good, and the Windjammers led 14-8.

MDI was forced to punt and Camden Hills took over at their own 47 yard line with 5:06 left in the 3rd Quarter. They used 5:53 scoring with 11:23 left in the game on a Haslam to Cameron Lawrence pass of 15 yards. The 2-point conversion was no good, and Camden Hills was up 20-8.

MDI scored on a drive that took 2:40, scoring on a 24 yard pass from Spencer Laurendeau to Jarron Biekert. The 2-point conversion was good as Lincoln Gray powered into the end zone. That made the score 20-16 Camden Hills.

The Windjammers scored on their next possession in a drive that took 5:14. The Windjammers scored on a 3 yard pass from Haslam to Reynolds. The 2-point conversion to make the score 28-16.

MDI had another chance but turned the ball over on downs, and Camden Hills ran out the clock.

The Trojans committed 6 penalties on the day - 2 holding, 1 illegal motion, 1 chop block, 1 face mask and 1 offensive pass interference.

MDI is now 2-1. The Trojans will host Waterville at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 22nd. The kickoff is at 7 p.m. and the pregame will start at 6:40 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device. 

Camden Hills is 3-0 and will travel to play Mountain Valley on Friday, September 22nd.
