MDI Drama Needs $6000 to Travel and Stay to Compete in One-Act State Championship
For the 12th time since 2010, the MDI Drama One-Act Team will be traveling to compete in the State Championship. They will be traveling to Camden Hills High School for the Class A Championship.
Much to Director Casey Rush's shock, the cost for the travel has skyrocketed since they last competed in the State Championship in Fairfield. The expense is much higher because there aren't as many hotel rooms available in the Belfast/Camden area, and let's face it, EVERYTHING is much more expensive.
It talking with Casey this morning, we figured that between hotel rooms, gas for the truck (the truck is being donated), to haul the scenery and props, meal money for the One-Act Team and other incidental expenses, they need $6000!
So once again we appeal to the generous community to help meet this challenge. The cast and crew don't have time to fundraise as they're busy preparing to compete. If you are able, please drop a check off at MDI High School. Checks should be made out to MDI High School and put One-Act play in the memo line.
There will be a by-donation performance of the One-Act Play on Wednesday March 19th at 7 p.m. Proceeds from that performance will go to this travel fund, but it would be great if this $6000 goal were met by then!
If you are in a position to make a sizeable donation, please call the High School at 207-288-5011 extension 3110 and let Casey Rush know. You can also email him
DONATIONS MAY NOW BE MADE ONLINE HERE
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
