MDI Doubles Up John Bapst 74-37

It was a big night at Bernard Parady Gymnasium on Monday, January 13th as Hannah Shaw eclipsed the 1000 point mark in her career. It was a bigger night for the team, as they improved to 10-1 on the season, with a 74-37 victory over John Bapst.

MDI stormed out to a 24-16 at the end of the 1st quarter. Kelsey shaw paced MDI scoring 13 points, and Hannah Shaw had 5, including her 1000th point.

MDI led at the half, 42-17. Sarah Phelps drained 2 3-pointers, Sara Norberg had a 3-pointer for MDI and Sierra Tapley added 6 points for MDI. Courtney Benson poured in 5 points for John Bapst.

It was 60-26 after the 3rd Quarter, as MDI continued the scoring. Tapley added a 3-ppointer, Kelsey Shaw had 5 more points as did Hannah Shaw. For John Bapst, Maddie Higgins added 5 points.

Both teams emptied the bench in the 4th Quarter. Haley Littlefield hit a 3-pointer for MDI and Caitlin Abbot went 3-4 from the free throw line for John Bapst.

MDI was led by Kelsey Shaw with a game high 20 points while Sierra Tapley had 17 points. MDI was 7-12 from the free throw line. John Bapst was led by Maddie Higgins with 9 points and Keyanna Voye had 6 for the Crusaders. John Bapst was 11-24 from the free throw line.

MDI, now 10-1, plays host to Foxcroft Academy Tuesday, January 14th at 7 PM in a game that will be aired on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio. John Bapst, 5-4 on the season, travels to Hermon, Wednesday, January 15th at 7 PM to play the Hermon Hawks.
