The MDI Boys Soccer Team opened their 2020 season with a 3-1 victory over the Hampden Academy Broncos in Hampden on Monday night, October 5th.

Hampden Academy took a early 1-0 lead with 21:02 remaining in the 1st Half, when Marc Fachiol found the back of the net, past MDI goalkeeper Quentin Pileggi

With 15 minutes in the 1st Half Leuan Howell knotted the score at 1-1.

The Trojans took the lead 2-1 when Cole Watson scored off of a rebound when Hampden Academy Eli Wilson made the save but the ball came out into the box.

MDI added an insurance goal when Henry Lester's shot from the left side caromed off of the back of a Hampden defender and with a lot of spin went into the goal over the outstretched hands of Wilson.

Neither team scored in the 2nd Half despite opportunities.

MDI had 21 shots and the Broncos had 22 shots. Pileggi played in goal the entire game for the Trojans while Eli Wilson played the 1st Half and Cooper Morna played the 2nd Half.
