The MDI Boys Soccer Team nipped Ellsworth 1-0 on Tuesday night, October 6th under the lights at Alumni Field in Bar Harbor

Ellsworth outshot MDI 15-8 in the 1st Half, and controlled much of the pace of play, but neither team was able to put the ball into the net.

MDI took the lead with 19:43 remaining in the 2nd Half when Zack Zaman volleyed a crossing pass from Ieuan Howell past the diving Ellsworth goalkeeper Hunter Curtis.

With time expiring Ellsworth had their best opportunity with a shot rocketed point blank in the box at MDI goalkeeper Quentin Pileggi, but Pileggi was able to deflect the shot as time expired.

Ellsworth finished with 25 shots on goal, while MDI had 14 shots on goal.

Up next for MDI is a home contest at Alumni Field against Bucksport on Saturday, October 10th at 1 p.m.

Up next for Ellsworth is a game in Blue Hill against GSA on Thursday, October 8th at 4 p.m.

Note - Wednesday's Ellsworth-MDI Girl's game in Bar Harbor has moved to a 5:30 p.m. start instead of the previously scheduled 6 p.m. start, weather permitting.
