MDI Boys Go To 10-0
The MDI Boy's Basketball Team remained undefeated, improving to 10-0 beating Hermon on Friday, January 13th in front of a packed crowd at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor. The Trojans won 58-48.
MDI jumped out to a 20-10 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, punctuated by Mac Shea's NBA distance 3-pointer as the clock expired. For MDI Riley Swanson had 2 3-pointers for 6 points, Shea had 5 points, Drew Rich 3 points and Andrew Phelps, Russell Kropff and Devin Parlatore had 2 points each. For Hermon Jordan Bishop and Garrett Trask had 4 points each and Keenan Marseille had 2 points.
The lead stayed 10 at the end of the 1st Half, with MDI up 29-19. Swanson had 5 points with another 3-pointer for MDI while Graham Good and Russell Kropff had 2 points for the Trojans. For Hermon Keenan Marseille had 5 points with a 3-pointe3r and Bishop and Trask added 2 points each.
MDI led by 10 at the end of the 3rd Quarter, 43-33 thanks to Andrew Phelps 3-pointer at the buzzer. Phelps had 2 3-pointers in the Quarter, while Kropff had 7 points including a 3-pointer. Graham Good was 1-2 from the free throw line for MDI. For Hermon Isaac Varney had 6 points, going 4-4 from the free throw line. Marseille had 5 points with another 3-pointer and Cody Hawes had a 3-pointer.
In the 4th Quarter, Hermon cut MDI's lead to 6, but weren't able to get closer as MDI went 8-8 from the free throw line. Graham Good had 6 points, Riley Swanson drained his 4th 3-pointer of the night and Andrew Phelps, Drew Rich and Russell Kropff were each 2-2 from the free throw line. For Hermon Marseille had 6 points, Varney 5 points with a 3-pointer and Bishop and Joel Bergeron each had 2 points.
MDI was led by Riley Swanson with 14 points, while Russell Kropff had 13 points and Andrew Phelps had 10 points. MDI was 12-14 from the free throw line.
Hermon was led by Keenan Marseille with a game high 18 points while Isaac Varney had 11 points. Hermon was 12-15 from the free throw line.
MDI is 10-0 and will play at Foxcroft Academy on Monday, January 16th at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.
Hermon is 9-2, with both losses coming to MDI. The Hawks play host to Caribou on Monday, January 16th at 4:30 PM.
