MDI Boys Fall to MCI 58-55

The MDI Boys Basketball Team fell to the MCI Huskies on Saturday afternoon, December 21st at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor.

MDI led 10-9 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Porter Isaacs had 6 points, while Brady Renault and Nate Philbrook each had 2 points. For MCI Harrison Sites had 7 points while Gavin McArthur had 2 points.

MCI led 17-6 at the end of the 1st Half. Owen Williams scored 6 points for MCI while Sites added 2 more. For MDI Jack DaCorte, Charlie Parker and Will Hodgdon each had 2 points.

The 3rd Quarter again proved to be MDI's downfall as they trailed by double digits until they closed strong to trail 37-33. For MCI Gavin McArthur drained 3 3-pointers for 9 points, Sites had 7 points and Williams 4 points.  For the Trojans DaCorte, Erik Merchant, and Porter Isaacs each had 4 points while Cadin Lunt had a 3-pointer and Charlie Parker added 2 points.

MDI had the chance to tie the game with 12 seconds left, but were unable to hit the tying 3-pointer. In the 4th Quarter the Trojans sank 4 3's, with Lunt having 2, and Brady Renault and Jack DaCorte 1 each. Nate Philbrook and Porter Isaacs each had 4 points and Will Hodgdon 2 points. For the Huskies Owen Williams had 10 points with a 3-pointe4r, Dominic Wilson had 5 points, Gavin McArthur 5 points with his 4th 3-pointer of the day, and Sites was 1-2 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Porter Isaacs with 14 points, while Cadin Lunt and Jack DaCorte each had 9 points. MDI only went to the foul line twice, and were 2-2

MCI was led by Owen Williams with 20 points while Harrison Sites had 17 points and Gavin McArthur 16 points.  The Huskies were 11-17 from the free throw line.

MDI now 2-3 is off until Friday, December 27th when they will play Presque Isle in Aroostook County at 5:30. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on our free downloadable APP, on WDEA Internet Radio and on any Alexa enabled device.

MCI is at Lincoln Academy on Monday, December 23rd at 1 p.m.
