MDI Boys Fall to Hampden 47-38 [STATS&RECAP]

The MDI Boys Basketball Team fell to the Hampden Broncos 47-38 on Saturday afternoon, February 13th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor.

Hampden led 7-4 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Landon Grabric had 4 points to pace Hampden while TJ Henaghen hit a 3-pointer. For MDI Porter Isaacs had a basket and was 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 2nd Quarter Hampden Academy increased their lead, outscoring MDI 11-10 to take a 18-14 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Zachary McLaughlin had 5 points, Brandon Butterfield 4 points and Gabric 2 points. For MDI Brady Renault had 2 3-pointers for 6 points with Maddox Laurendeau adding 2 points and Ethan Merchant going 2-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter the Broncos outscored MDI 17-12 to make it 35-26 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Zachary McLaughlin drained 3 3-pointers for 9 points, Landon Gabric had 6 points and Brandon Butterfield had 2 points. For MDI Brady Renault had 2 3-pointers for 6 points and Walker St. Germain had 6 points.

In the 4th Quarter Porter Isaacs had 5 points for MDI, Walker St. Germain added 4 more points and Brady Renault had his 5th 3-pointer. For Hampden Academy Zachary McLaughline had 5 points including his 4th 3-pointer, Brandon Butterfield was 5-6 from the free throw line and Landon Gabric had 2 more points.

Hampden Academy was led by Zachary McLaughlin with 19 points while Landon Gabric had 14 points and Brandon Butterfield 11 points. The Broncos were 8-9 from the free throw line

MDI was led by Brady Renault with 15 points with Walker St. Germain finishing with 10 points. The Trojans were 7-11 from the free throw line.

MDI is back in action on Tuesday, February 16th when they play host to Bucksport at 6 p.m.. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
