MDI Boys Fall to Caribou in Tourney 2020 Quarterfinals [PHOTOS]

The MDI Boys Basketball Team's season came to an end on Saturday, February 15th, when they fell to the defending State Class B Champions, the Caribou Vikings 61-48 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

MDI led for the majority of the 1st Quarter, until Caribou scored late to take a 19-16 lead. MDI was led by Brady Renault and Jack Dacorte, each with 5 points and a 3-pointer. Charlie Parker had 4 points and Ethan Merchant 2 points. Caribou was led by Alex Bouchard with 7 points, with a 3-pointer. Parker Deprey had 6 points, Ethan Holdsworth had 4 points and Sawyer Deprey had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Caribou outscored MDI 11-9 to take a 30-25 lead at Halftime. Sawyer Deprey had 5 points with a 3-pointerr. Bouchard had 4 points, while Ethan Holdsworth added 2 points. For MDI DaCorte had another 5 points with his 2nd 3-pointer. Brady Renault had 2 points and Porter Isaacs had 2 points.

It was 45-35 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. DaCorte had 4 points for MDI and Renault, Parker and Nate Philbrook all added 2 points. For Caribou Sawyer Deprey had 7 points, and Bouchard, Holdsworth, Jake Berkowski and Parker Deprey all added 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Nate Philbrook had 7 points for MDI with a 3-pointe. Brady Renault was 4-4- from the free throw line and DaCorte had 2 points. For Caribou Sawyer Deprey had 5 points with his 2nd 3-pointer of the game. Holdsworth had 4 points , Bouchard 3 points, Parker Deprey 2 points and Isaac Marker 2 points.

MDI was led by Jack DaCorte with 16 points, while Brady Renault had 13 points. The Trojans were 4-4 from the free throw line.

Caribou placed 4 players in double figures. Sawyer Deprey had a game high 19 points. Alex Bouchard had 16 points, Ethan Holdsworth 12 points and Parker Deprey had 10 points. The Vikings were 10-19 from the free throw line.

MDI's season comes to an end with a record of 9-11.

Caribou will play in the Northern Maine Class B Semifinals on Wednesday night, February 19th at 8:30 p.m. against Old Town, the 12th seed who have upset #5 Houlton in the prelims, and #4 Hermon in the Quarterfinals.
