The MDI Boys Basketball Team fell to the defending Class B State Champions 66-46 on Saturday, December 28th in Caribou as Parker Deprey scored his 1000th point for the Vikings.

Deprey, needing 13 points for 1000, became the 14th player in Caribou basketball history to score 1000 points. He did it on a free throw with 5:54 remaining in the 3rd Quarter.

Caribou rushed out to a 28-14 in the 1st Quarter. Sawyer Deprey had 10 points for the Vikings while Isaac Marker had 7 points with a 3-pointer. Parker Deprey had 6 points, Alex Bouchard 3 points and Ethan Holdsworth 2 points. For MDI Nate Philbrook had 4 points, Erik Merchant a 3-pointer, Porter Isaacs 3 points and Cadin Lunt and Jack DaCorte 2 points each.

It was 37-22 at the end of the 1st Half. Parker Deprey had 6 points for the Vikings while Jacob Berkoski had 2 points and Sawyer Deprey 1 point. For MDI Brady Renault, Jack DaCorte, Nate Philbrook and Porter Isaacs each had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter Caribou extended their lead to 55-35. Marker had 6 points for Caribou with a 3-pointer. Bouchard added 5 points, Parker Deprey had 4 points, including his 1000th point and Sawyer Deprey had 2 points while Ethan Holdsworth 1 point.  For MDI Philbrook had 5 points, Cadin Lunt a 3-pointer and Maddox Laurendeau and Porter Isaacs 2 points each. Jack DaCorte was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter Parker Deprey added 4 points for the Vikings while Bouchard, Marker and Riley Bouchard had 2 points. Corey Herbert had 1 point. For MDI Philbrook had 5 points including a 3-pointer. Will Hodgon had 2 points while Ethan Merchant was 2-2 from the free throw line and Brady Renault and Jack DaCorter each 1-2 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Nate Philbrook with 16 points while Porter Isaacs had 7 points. The Trojans were 7-16 from the free throw line.

Caribou had 3 players in double figures with Parker Deprey a game high 20 points. Isaac Marker had 15 points and Alex Bouchard 10 points. The Vikings were 14-29 from the free throw line.

MDI is 2-4 on the season. They will play at Presque Isle on Wednesday, January 1st at 2:30 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
