MDI Boys Down the Hermon Hawks 51-36
The MDI Boys finally picked up their signature win they've been looking forward all season long, beating the Hermon Hawks 51-36 on Tuesday, February 4th in Hermon, in their last road game of the regular season.
MDI jumped out to a 12-2 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Jack DaCorte and Charlie Parker each had 5 points with a 3-pointer, and Will Hodgdon had 2 points. The Hawks lone points came from the free throw line as Wyatt Gogan was 2-2.
In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Hermon 20-13 to take a 32-15 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Jack DaCorter drained 3 3-pointers for 9 points. Porter Isaacs had 4 points and Brady Renault and Maddox Laurendeau each had a 3-pointer. Erik Merchant was 1-2 from the free throw line. For Hermon Jakob Davis had 2 3-pointers for 6 points. Zac Tubbs had a 3-pointer and Eli Reed and Issac Parent each had 2 points.
The 3rd Quarter saw MDI increase their lead, outscoring the Hawks 10-6 as the score was 42-21. For MDI Cadin Lunt hit a 3-pointer, Nate Philbrook had 3 points and Jack DaCorteand Porter Isaacs each had 2 points. For the Hawks Eli Reed had 4 points and Trevor Smith had 2 points
In the 4th Quarter, Marshall Reiff, just called up to the Varsity saw his first minutes. Cadin Lunt was 3-4 from the free throw line, Maddox Laurendeau was 2-2 from the free throw line and Nate Philbrook had 2 points. For the Hawks Eli Reed had 7 points with a 3-pointer. Isaac Parent had a 3-pointer. Wyatt Gogan was 3-5 from the free throw line and Jaeden Hernderson was 2-4.
MDI was led by Jack DaCorte with a game high 16 points. Porter Isaacs and Cadin Lunt each had 6 points. MDI was 7-13 from the free throw line
Hermon was led by Eli Reed with 13 points while Jakob Davis had 6 points. The Hawks were 11-16 from the free throw line
MDI is now 8-9 and will play host to Ellsworth on Thursday, February 6th on Senior Night at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor. Tip off will be at 7p.m. with our pregame starting at 6:30 on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
Hermon, now 11-6 will play their final regular season game Wednesday night, February 5th against John Bapst.
