MDI Boys Beat Old Town 70-47 [Recap/Photos]

The MDI Trojans beat the Old Town Coyotes 70-47 in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, February 6th at Bernard Parady. The Trojans are now 13-4 with 1 game remaining against Ellsworth on Thursday on February 8th.

MDI jumped out to a 14-9 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Drew Shea had 4 points, Finn McConomy had a 3-pointer, Brett Duley had 3 points and Derek Collin and Dane Vanzura had 2 points each. For Old Town Ethan Hayes had 6 points with a 3-pointer and Kyle Berube had a 3-pointer.

In the 2nd Quarter MDI outscored Old Town 24-10 to take a 38-19 lead at the end of the 1st Half. In the 2nd Quarter, Collin had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Brett Duley had 2 3-pointers for 6 points, Vanzura had 4 points and Shea and McConomy had 2 points each for the Trojans. For the Coyotes Dom Mitchell had 8 points and Logan Doucette had 2 points.

MDI outscored Old Town 20-13 in the 3rd Quarter to take a 58-32 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Collin had 7 points, Drew Shea had 6 points, McConomy drained his 2nd 3-pointer and Alden Fournier, and Dane Vanzura had 2 points each. For the Coyotes Berube had 4 poitns, Colby Archer had a 3-pointer and Nick Swift, Logan Doucette and Dom Mitchell each had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter MDI received 2 points each from McConomy, Colby Lee, Nick Duley, Erik Merchant, and Drew Shea and 1 point each from Derek Collin and Dane Vanzura. For Old Town Hayes had 5 points with his 2nd 3-pointer. Dom Mitchell had 4 points, Mike Brown a 3-pointer and Zach Fostun 3 points.

MDI was led by Derek Collin with 18 points. Drew Shea had 14 points and Finn McConomy had 10 points. The Trojans had 5 3-pointers, 2 by Finn McConomy and Brett Duley and 1 from Derek Collin. The Trojans were 17-26 from the free throw line.

Old Town was led by Dom Mitchell with 14 points and Ethan Hayes had 11 points. The Coyotes had 5 3-pointers 3 by Ethan Hayes and 1 each by Kyle Berube, Colby Archer and Mike Brown. The Coyotes were 4-12 from the free throw line.
