MDI Boys Basketball Defeats Brewer 68-41 With Strong Defense

The MDI Boy's Basketball Team used a pressure defense all night long, forcing the Brewer Witches into numerous turnovers and beat the Witches 68-41 in Brewer on Monday, January 5th.

MDI led 18-13 at the end of the 1st Quarter, and then outscored Brewer 17-7 to take a 35-20 lead at the end of the 1st Half. The Trojans led 49-33 after the 3rd Quarter.

MDI was led by James Witham who had 26 points, including a 3-pointer. Dylan Stoll had 17 points with a 3-pointer.Preston Tripp and Coe Thurston each had a 3-pointer. MDI was 8-12 from the free throw line.

Brewer was led by Oli Higgins who had 15 points, including going 7-10 from the free throw line. Cody Hews had 13 points, with 3 3-pointers. Caleb Campbell had a 3-pointer. Brewer was 7-10 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 8-1. They will host Hampden Academy on Wednesday night, January 7th with the game scheduled to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Brewer is now 2-6. They will travel to play the Old Town Coyotes on Wednesday, January 7th at 6:30 p.m.
