MDI Boys Beat Nokomis 64-48 [STATS]

The MDI Boy's Basketball Team outscored the Nokomis Warriors 26-10 in the 4th Quarter, breaking a 38-38 tie, and beat Nokomis 64-48 in Newport on Friday afternoon, January 2nd.

Kenneth Stillwell ended with a double-double, scoring 22 points, including a 3-pointer and ripping down 16 rebounds. James Witham had a team-high 25 points with 4 3-pointers. Lyman Pinkham had a 3-pointer. MDI was a sizzling 16-18 from the free throw line.

Nokomis was led by Seth Bowden, who just missed a double-double. He had 14 points with 9 rebounds. Owen Sides had 12 points with 2 3-pointers. Owen Buck and Jordan Quinn each had a 3-pointer. The Warriors were 6-9 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 7-1. They will play at Brewer on Monday, January 5th at 6:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device with the pregame starting at 6:15 p.m.

Nokomis is now 3-6. The Warriors will play at Oceanside against the Mariners on Tuesday, January 6th at 6:30 p.m.
