MDI Boys Basketball Team Beats Presque Isle 71-48 [STATS&PHOTOS]

The MDI Boys Basketball Team picked up their 1st win of the season, beating the Presque Isle Wildcats 71-48 on Friday night, December 20th in Bar Harbor. The loss was Presque Isle's 1st of the season.

MDI led 14-10, and exploded for 25 points in the 2nd Quarter, to take a 39-23 lead at the end of the 1st Half. The Trojans led 51-36 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

MDI was paced by Cal Hodgdon with a game-high 18 points, including 2 3-pointers. James Witham had 15 points with 1 3-pointer while Jarron Biekert also had 15 points. The Trojans were a near-perfect 10-12 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Kason Bua with 15 points including 4 3-pointers. Cruze Casavant had 13 points with a 3-pointer. Brodey McPherson had a pair of 3-pointers. The Wildcats were 5-12 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 1-1. They will host Caribou on Saturday, December 21st at 2:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio, on the FREE WDEA  APP, and on any Alexa enabled device. The game will also be live-streamed on the free MDI HUDL page

Presque Isle, now 3-1 will play at Ellsworth on Saturday, December 21st at 1 p.m. That game may be watched on the free Ellsworth HUDL page.
