MDI Girl’s Basketball Team Falls to Hampden Academy 54-26

The MDI Girl's Basketball Team fell to the Hampden Academy Broncos 54-26 in Hampden on Tuesday, January 6th.

The Broncos jumped out to a 17-6 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter as Hampden Academy sank 3 3-pointers. The score was 24-12 at the end of the 1st Half. Hampden Academy outscored MDI 15-2 in the 3rd Quarter to essentially put the game away, leading 39-14.

MDI was led by Avery Norwood with 8 points. Calleigh Trenholm had 6 points on 2 3-pointers. The Trojans were 6-6 from the free throw line.

Hampden Academy was led by Grace Labree with 15 points. Kate Adams had 9 points on 3 3-pointers. Naia Studley, Chloe Watson, Eve Wiles and Lily Blanchard each had a 3-pointer. The Broncos were 6-8 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 7-3 and in 5th place for the Class B North Heal Point Standings. They will host Belfast on Thursday, January 8th at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Hampden Academy is now 8-1 and in 1st place in the Class A North Heal Point Standings. They will host Ellsworth on Thursday, January 8th at 6:30 p.m. That game will be live-streamed on 92.9 The Ticket's Ticket TV.
