MDI Baseball Sweeps Presque Isle 9-4 and 11-0 [PHOTOS]
The MDI Trojans Baseball Team swept the Presque Isle Wildcats in a doubleheader in Bar Harbor to start the 2021 season, winning 9-4 and 11-0 in a mercy rule shortened game.

In the 1st Game Sam Mitchell picked up the win for MDI. He pitched 6 innings for the Trojans striking out 7, while allowing 8 hits and 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. He didn't walk a batter.
Jay Haney made his varsity debut in relief, pitching a hitless 7th inning, striking out 2 Wildcat batters.
Chance Bragan went 4.0 innings for the Wildcats, allowing 7 runs, 4 of which were earned taking the loss. He struck out 4 and walked 4.
Michael Langley went 2.0 innings, allowing 3 runs, all unearned. He gave up 1 hit an struck out 2 and walked 2.
Brady Renault blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning for the 1st run of the season for MDI.
Quinten Pileggi hit a 3 run home run in the bottom of the 4th inning. He ended up 2-4 with a double and homer, driving in 4 runs.
Logan Blanchette had a double and drove in a run.
Porter Isaacs, Sam Mitchell, Stevie Gilbert and Aiden Grant all singled for MDI
Brady Renault had a stolen base.
For the Wildcats, Chance Bragan was 2-2 with 3 singles. Michael Langley was 2-3 with 2 singes. Ben Graham, Ben Beaulieu and Logan Akeley all had singles.
Presque Isle stole 4 bases with Maynard swiping 2 and Langley and Graham each stealing 1 base. Bragan was gunned down trying to steal.
Presque Isle was trailing 6-0 before they put 4 runs on the board in the top of the 5th inning
In the 2nd game Quentin Pileggi took the mound for the Trojans and went 4.0 innings for the win. He struck out 8, walked 1 and scattered just 3 hits.
Noah Keeley pitched the 5th inning, striking out 1 and allowing 1 hit.
For the Wildcats, J.Maynard started and went 3.0 innings, picking up the loss. He allowed 9 runs, 4 of which were earned as Presque Isle committed 6 errors. He gave up 7 hits, striking out 1 and walking 2.
Cooper Boinske pitched the final inning, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, and walking 2.
In Game 2 Brady Renault went 2-3 with a home run and double.
Porter Isaacs was 2-3 with a triple and single.
Logan Beckwith had 2 singles, Grady Wellman-Webster, Stevie Gilbert and Jay Haney all had a single for the Trojans.
For the Wildcats, Cooper Boinske and Logan Akeley each had 2 singles.
MDI, 2-0 will play host to Bucksport on Tuesday, April 27th at 4:30 p.m.
