The MDI Trojans fell to the Washington Academy Raiders 11-1 in East Machias on Friday afternoon, May 8th.

Trevor Shimabukoro picked up the win for the Raiders, pitching a 5 inning complete game. He allowed 4 hits and 1 run striking out 7 and walking 4.

MDI's lone run came in the 1st inning when Colin Sullivan hit a home run to leadoff the game. Sullivan was 2-2 with a single and walk to go with the home run. He also had 2 stolen bases.

Alex Roos and Ben Ingram had singles for the Trojans.

Spencer Grierson started on the mound for MDI. He went 1.0 inning allowing 2 hits and 4 runs, striking out 1 and walking 2. Preston Trip pitched 3.0 innings allowing 3 hits and 3 runs, all unearned while striking out 2 and walking 1. Alister Frangillo pitched the 5th inning allowing 4 hits and 4 runs, walking 1.

Colby Moholland homered for Washington Academy. He ended 2-4 driving in 4 runs.

Parker Cates had a double. Shimabukoro had a single and drove in a run. Keagon Dinsmore was 2-3.James Welch and Daniel Gardner each singled.

Moholland, George Welch, Jayden Mahar and James Welch each had a stolen base for Washington Academy.

MDI is now 4-2. They will host Ellsworth on Monday, May 11th at 4:30 p.m.

Washington Academy is 7-0. They play at George Stevens Academy on Monday, May 11th at 4:30 p.m.
