MDI Baseball Beats Bucksport 12-3

The MDI Boy's Baseball Team traveled to Bucksport on Tuesday, May 23rd and came away with a 12-3 victory.

The Trojans banged out 12 hits, and scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st, and 2nd innings. They added 1 run in the 5th and 5 runs in the 7th inning.

Stanley Grierson, Jacob Mitchell, Nick Stanley, and Mac Shea each had 2 hits for MDI. Grierson and Mitchell each had a double. Drew Shea had a triple and Sam Keblinsky, Alden Fournier and Matt Perconti each had a single. The Trojans stole 5 bases with Perconti leading the way with 2 steals, while Grierson, Fin McConomy and Mac Shea each swiped a base.

Seth Clark threw 5 innings for MDI. He didn't allow a hit while striking out 11 and walking 2. Andrew Kennedy threw an inning allowing 3 hits, and the 3 runs. Alden Fournier and Mac Shea pitched the final inning.

For Bucksport Chase Carmichael, Christian Chase-Hurd and Tanner Stegner each had a single.

Andrew Allen threw 2.1 innings for Bucksport, allowing 7 hits, 7 runs and striking out 1 and walking 2. Isaac Moore pitched well in relief, throwing 4.0 innings giving up 4 hits and 1 runs and struck out 1. Anthony Wardwell pitched the final 0.2 innings allowing 1 hit, 4 runs and walked 5.

MDI is 6-5 and will play host to Caribou on Saturday, May 27th in a doubleheader with games at 12 Noon and 2 PM.

Bucksport is now 7-5 and will play host to Orono on Thursday, May 25th at 3:30 PM.
