Mariners Tie Program-Record with 17 3’s and Beat UMaine-Augusta 113-73
The Maine Mariners Men's Basketball Team drained 17 3-pointers on Friday to tie a program-record and beat the UMaine-Augusta Moose 113-73 in Castine on Friday.
The Mariners had 5 players in double-figures. Curt Heinz led the way with 21 points. Kaden Horner had 19 points with 4 3-pointers. Isaiah Oquendo had 14 points with 4 3-pointers. Markus Ramirez had 13 points with 3 3's and Josiah Dancy finished with 10 points.
Heinz was the game-leader with 9 rebounds, just missing a double-double.
Maine Maritime was 41-65 from the field, and 17-31 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were 14-20 from the free throw line.
Trevor Beals led all scoreres with 22 points. Yonas Medfu had 12 points for the Moose.
UMaine-Augusta was 25-62 from the field and 2-10 from beyond the 3-point arc. They were an efficient 21-27 from the free throw line.
Maine Maritime outrebounded UMaine-Augusta 39-26.
The Mariners are now 2-0 on the season. They next play at the University of Southern Maine on Monday, November 13th at 7 p.m. They return home to play Fisher College on Friday, November 17th at 7 p.m.
