Man Causes $60,000 In Damage to House Trying to Burn Spider

Look, I get it! I have a fear of bats. The first time we had a bat in our house I thought my wife was having a bad dream, and told her to go back to sleep. When she called me again, to tell me there was a bat in the house, I went up to the bedroom, turned on the light, and saw the bat flying in the room, and slammed the door, with my wife inside the bedroom with the bat! It's a wonder we are still married :)

I called the Bangor Police Department, and asked them to come over, I told them I didn't care if they shot the bat, and I had to patch the bullet holes! I was that scared. I was even more scared, when they explained they couldn't come over because of the risk that the officers might get rabies!

So I can totally relate to this man, who tried to get rid of the spider in his house by attempting to burn it. The result was that he caused $40,000 in damage to the house and $20,000 to the personal property in his house!
