Maine Maritime Academy Men’s Basketball Beats UMaine-Fort Kent 83-61
The Maine Maritime Academy Men's Basketball Team knocked off the UMaine-Fort Kent Bengals 83-61 in Castine on Wednesday night, 83-61.
The Mariners led 46-26 at the end of the 1st Half.
Maine Maritime Academy had 3 players in double-figures. Curt Heinz had a game-high 23 points. Heinz had a double-double ripping down a game-high 11 rebounds! Markus Ramirez had 11 points and Josiah Dancy had 10 points.
The Mariners shot lights-out, going 30-49 from the field, 61.2 percent. They were 10-13 from the free throw line and were 13-22 from beyond the 3-point arc. Markus Ramirez, CJ Lilljeqvist and Carter Rubin each drained 3 3-pointers. Josiah Dancy, Jack Banks, Seamus Raftice and Kaden Horner each sank a 3-pointer.
Aidan Grady had 14 points to lead UMaine Fort Kent. Maksim Vukcevic, Briton Franklin, Souleymane Barro and Bryce Bouldwin each had 8 points.
The Bengals were 22-65 (33.8 percent) from the field, 8-25 from beyond the 3-point arc and 9-11 from the free throw line. Vukcevic, Franklin, Bouldwin each had 2 3-pointers. Grady and Jordan Guerrero each sank a 3-pointer.
UMaine Fort Kent is now 3-5. Maine Maritime Academy is 4-3. The Mariners will host the UMaine-Farmington Beavers on Saturday, December 2nd at 1 p.m.
