Maine Lottery Bows To Pressure And Changes Name Of Scratch Off Game To “$%&*@!”

As first reported in today’s Bangor Daily News, and since picked up by several news outlets, who apparently wanted to make Mainers look as ridiculous as possible, the Maine State Lottery has received a great deal of backlash for wanting to name its new scratch off games “Kwikie”.

The Lottery has bowed to pressure and agreed to change the name, which some were quick (pun intended?) to point out was slang for a sexual encounter.

“We’ve heard the complaints, and we’ve changed the name,” Joey Cunningham, the Sate Lottery spokesman told a gathering of reporters. “The new name is $%&*@! and anyone who has a problem with that can go $%&*@! themselves!”
