The Machias Girls Basketball Team is off to a 4-0 start after beating Sumner 53-35 in Machias on Friday, December 15th.

Machias led 14-10 at the end of the 1st Quarter and then outscored Sumner 22-10 in the 2nd Quarter to take a 32-14 halftime lead. They led 39-20 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Machais was led by Skyler Tinker with a game-high 17 points while Maleah Rhodes had 14 points and Layla Wright had 13 points. Machias had 4 3-pointers in the game., with Rhodes draining 3 3-pointers and Wright having the other. The Bulldogs were 11-23 from the free throw line

Sumner was led by Bristoll Parritt with 8 points while Clara Christiansen had 7 points. Christiansen had Sumner's lone 3-pointer. The Tigers were 4-14 from the free throw line.

Sumner is now 1-2 and will play at Searsport on Wednesday, December 20th at 6:30 p.m.

Machias is now 4-0. They will play host to Calais on Monday, December 18th at 5 p.m.
