The Ellsworth Baseball Team exploded for 7 runs in the top of the 7th inning to break open a 5-4 game and went on to beat the John Bapst Crusaders 12-4 at Husson University on Thursday, May 21st.

Dawson Curtis started for Ellsworth on the mound and went 5.0 innings allowing 9 hits and 4 runs, 3 of which were earned. He struck out 2 and walked 1. Jackson Barry picked up the win in relief, pitching 2 hitless innings and striking out 4.

Aiden Ouellette took the loss, pitching 6.1 innings for the Crusaders. He allowed 9 hits and 6 runs, 4 of which were earned. H struck out 5 and walked 3. Logan Martin retired the final 2 batters, but not before allowing 4 hits and 6 runs, 1 of which was earned.

Jackson Barry had a day at the plate, going 2-4 with a home run and driving in 2 runs. Evan Haskell was 2-5 leading off with a double, and driving in 2 runs and scoring 3 runs. Dawson Curtis had a double and drove in 2 runs. Brayden Pooler was 3-5 with a double and drove in 2 runs. Porter Merrill had a single. Caleb Jordan was 2-4 with a run batted in and Coleman Welch was 2-4 with 2 runs batted in.

The Eagles wiped 9 bases with Haskell swiping 3  and Barry 2. Pooler, Jordan, Welch and Joey Beal each had 1 stolen base.

Jaxson Sockbeson had a double and drove in a run for the Crusaders. Colby Haggerty  and Abe Pendergast were each  2-4 . Ian Boudreau, Cooper Lewis, Sam Churchard and Josh Pangburn each had a single for John Bapst.

John Bapst had 4 stolen bases with Pendergast, Haggerty, Pangbuirn and Churchard each having 1 stolen bag.

Ellsworth is now 10-1. They will play a doubleheader at Presque Isle on Saturday, May 23rd.

John Bapst is now 5-6. They will play at Old Town on Saturday, May 24rd at 4 p.m.
