Talk about thinking outside the school! You're going to want to take a drive and check out the light display at the Lamoine Consolidated School beginning Thursday night, December 3rd as there will be nearly 25,000 Christmas lights lit up,  in a display that the school is calling "Our School Is a Glow"

The lighting ceremony will take place Thursday, December 3rd from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and then the school will be lit every night leading up to Christmas.

Staff members, students and community members decorated the front of the school with lights, trees, and ornaments. They took a lot down in anticipation of the storm on November 30th-December 1st but everything is going back up to be ready for December 3rd.

Normally the Lamoine Patrons (parent group) helps support the school with a "penny sale" in which the Patrons solicits donations from local businesses for the children to purchase, for a penny each for the kids to give as a gift to their parents. They also decorate the rooms and help the children create decorations to take home. However because of COVID, none of these outreach programs are possible

Rather, the staff and school have turned their attention to thanking the community for their support with this light display in hopes of bringing joy to everyone.
