Show your support and stand with the people of Ukraine this Sunday in Bar Harbor!

As the world continues to be affected by the war between Russia and Ukraine, some good citizens in the Bar Harbor area want to get people together to show support for everyone who is suffering through this terrible, ongoing tragedy.

This Sunday, March 13th at 2 pm, "We Stand With Ukraine" will take place in Bar Harbor, at the sand bar to Bar Island, which is a walk down Bridge Street, to be part of a moment of support and solidarity for the people of Ukraine

The organizers are asking folks to wear primarily blue or wear primarily yellow clothing. The plan is to form a giant human-powered Ukrainian flag while standing together in unity. Last week a generous drone pilot came out to photograph the people hosting this event to create images that everyone can share, simply to show support for the people of Ukraine.

There will be a group photograph at 2 pm. If you have extra yellow, or blue jackets, hats, raincoats, they ask that you please bring them for those who might not own something to wear. Everyone who attends will receive a yellow and a blue ribbon.

The forecast for Sunday calls for cloudy skies, with a high of 30 degrees, so you can bring your pets if they are leashed. Also, remember that Saturday at 2 am, we turn the clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time.
