One Person is Dead After a Head-On Crash in Washington County
A Machias woman was killed on Tuesday in a head-on collision in Jonesboro.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Diana O'Neal, 68, of Machias died at the scene of the crash.
What Happened?
It was approximately 12:45 Tuesday afternoon when two vehicles collided on Route 1 in Jonesboro, near the Columbia Falls line. An initial investigation into the circumstances of the crash indicate that a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Lenore Faulkingham, 69, of Whitneyville was traveling east when her vehicle crossed the center line. Her pickup struck a Subaru Forester, driven by Tammy O'Neal, 62, of Machias. O'Neal's sister, Diana O'Neal, was a passenger in the vehicle and died in the crash.
Was Anyone Else Hurt in the Crash?
Faulkingham and her 15-year-old grandson were transported to Downeast Community Hospital in Machias to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Tammy O'Neal was also treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital.
Maine State Police continue to investigate this crash.
