Both Fires Happened in the Same Area of Mount Desert
The charges stem from two incendiary fires reported at separate residential properties on Monday. Local fire departments responded to the fires that were both located off Stanley Mountain Road in the town of Mount Desert.
No One Was Hurt in the Fires
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says no one was home at either residence during the fires. Officials have not commented on a possible motive behind this act. Several agencies worked on this investigation, including police departments from MDI and Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park Rangers, and multiple fire departments.
Stanley was transported to the Hancock County Jail after his arrest on Monday.
