In Battle of Eagles Ellsworth Boys Top GSA 57-22 [STATS/RECAP]
In the Battle of the Eagles, the Ellsworth Eagles topped the George Stevens Academy Eagles 57-22 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium in Ellsworth, on Wednesday night, February 17th.
Ellsworth jumped out to a 20-11 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Ellsworth draine 4 3-pointers in the 1st Quarter. Michael Palmer, Eamon McDonald, Brett Bragdon and Hunter Curtis each had 1. Chance Mercier had 4 points and Miles Palmer and Brody Palmer each had 2 points. For GSA Teague Smallidge had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Michael Moon had 4 points and Azaiah Nanson had 2 points.
In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth extended their lead outscoring GSA 10-4 to take a 30-15 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Huntr Curtis had 6 points for Ellsworth, going 4-4 from the free throw line. Chance Mercier and Michael Palmer each had 2 points. For GSA Michael Moon and Teague Smallidge each had 2 points.
In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth extended their lead, to 45-20 at the end of the 3rd Quarter, outscoring GSA 15-5.. Hunter Curtis had 8 points and Chance Mercier 7 points for Ellsworth. Nanson had 3 points and Smallidge 2 points for GSA.
In the 4th Quarter Gage Hardy had 4 points, Peter Keblinsky hit a 3-pointer and Michael Palmer and Kaleb Conners each had a bucket. Brody Mercier was 1-2 from the free throw line. For GSA Sol Lorio had the Eagle's lone points.
Ellsworth was led by Hunter Curtis with a game high 17 points while Chance Mercier tossed in 13 points. Ellsworth had 5 3-pointers on the night and was 6-7 from the free throw line.
GSA was led by Teague Smallidge with 9 points and was 3-4 from the free throw line.
