If you're heading to Mr. Worldwide's, Mr. 305's aka Pitbull's concert at the Bangor Waterfront on Thursday with Iggy Azalea you can help the Ellsworth High School Band head to Washington, D.C.

The Ellsworth High School Band is the state of Maine's representative for the 100th Centennial Celebration of the Dedication of the Lincoln Memorial in November. The band needs to raise $50,000 to send the 40 members plus chaperones to D.C. for the concert and tours of the Smithsonian, monuments, etc. It's a tall challenge!

Thanks to the generosity of Shaw's in Bangor, the Ellsworth High School Band, parents, and volunteers will be overseeing the parking in the Shaw's parking lot on Main Street in Bangor, next to the concert venue. Parking is $20 and all the proceeds will go to the Ellsworth Band's trip.

Now the band also needs some volunteers to help with the parking. There are two shifts: 1-5 p.m. and 5-8:30 p.m. If you can help, please message Lindsay Corson, Jamie Calandro, or Carrie Kutny on Facebook. If you sign up for the first shift you'll be home before the concert begins. If you sign up for the second shift you'll be able to hear what should be a sold-out great concert!
