Here's the Day 6 Final Day Update and Photos from Megan Stubbs about the Hancock County Technical Center's SkillsUSA competitors journey to Atlanta!

We spent our final day having a little fun to shake the stress of waiting for awards by going to the aquarium or the world of coke! Awards started at 4:30pm and the waiting began. Almost at the end Grace Finley, Abigail Farricker, and Willa Dow were announced as silver medalist in the career pathways health science competition! Although no other names were called our HCTC students did extraordinary with 12 out of 15 earning skill points (points awarded for scoring high in certain skill areas, like presentation). We couldn’t be more proud of all that our students accomplished while at NLSC 2025 and again want to thank our community for supporting our students and making it possible for them to attend!

Here's the Day 5 Update and Photos from Megan Stubbs about the Hancock County Technical Center's SkillsUSA competitors journey to Atlanta!

Our students had another full day of competitions and visiting the Techspo. They all have worked so hard and we are so proud of them. Afterwards students went to distress and play at the Ponce City Market and rooftop! Tomorrow we will have time to explore Atlanta before awards ceremony and closing state dinner. No matter where our kids place they all have worked so hard and put their best foot forward during their competitions. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s update and how students place.

Here's the Day 4 Update and Photos from Megan Stubbs about the Hancock County Technical Center's SkillsUSA competitors journey to Atlanta!

Today was day one of formal competitions! All of our students were prepared and put their best foot forward. Advisors are beyond proud of the hard work they put in today and will continue to put in tomorrow. After competitions some students walked around the techspo and then we decided to stay at the hotel and relax. Tomorrow is another full day for most of our students. We’re especially excited for our promotional bulletin board team that received a call back to finals tomorrow. Now to rest and recharge before another full day!

Here's the Day 3 Update from Meghan Stubbs about the Hancock County Technical Center's SkillsUSA competitors journey to Atlanta!

Today was orientation! All of our students attended their orientations and were able to get their times. Tomorrow all of our students, except for diesel, will be competing. We are so proud of the work they have put in and what they will achieve tomorrow and Thursday! After orientations we attended the opening ceremony where we hear from business and industry, and our key note speaker was the amazing Mike Rowe! At the end of the speech He used our own Bill Tracy to prove his point! See the video and photo of just how big Mr. Tracy’s hat is!

The group had a nice morning sleeping in and getting coffee and breakfast. We then went over to the Georgia World Congress Center and walked around to get a lay of the land and were able to attend the SkillsUSA Store opening! We ate a quick lunch, the kids spent some time in the pool, and then went to the state dinner. Students are resting up and will have their orientations and project set ups! We also wore our travel sponsor T-shirts around Atlanta, to the state dinner, and grabbed some photos in front of the Olympic Park Rings! We would like to give the biggest thank you to all of the businesses that support our students and make it possible for them to attend the national conference!
