Hancock County Basketball Teams in the 2026 MPA Basketball Tournament

It's Tourney Time! The 2026 Maine Principle's Association's 2026 High School Basketball Tournament tips-off on Tuesday, February 10th, with Class S Quarterfinals and then Class B-C-D beginning in earnest on Friday, February 13th.

We will have all the MDI and Ellsworth games on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled devices for as long as the teams are in the Tournament.

Quarterfinals will be live streamed on the NFHS Network, and then semifinals and regional finals will be broadcast on WHOU. Both are subscription services. The state finals on Friday, February 27th and Saturday February 28th  will be broadcast for free by Maine Public Televison.

Hancock County teams in the Tournament include MDI Girls and Boys; Ellsworth Girls and Boys: Sumner Girls and Boys; GSA Girls; Bucksport Boys: Deer-Isle Stonington Girls and Boys. Best of Luck to all!

Here are the prelim/quarterfinal times for the Hancock County teams.

#10 Bucksport Boys

• Prelim game Wednesday February 11 at #7 Orono
• If Bucksport wins they'll play Monday February 16th at 5:30 against #2 Mattanawcook Academy

#4 Deer Isle-Stonington Girls

• Play #5 Ashland Tuesday night, February 10th at 7:30 p.m.

#8 Deer Isle-Stonington Boys

• Play #1 Jonesport-Beals, Tuesday night, February 10th at 6 p.m.

#7 Ellsworth Girls

• Play #2 Old Town on Friday, February 13th at 8:30 p..m.

#5 Ellsworth Boys

• Play #4 MDI on Saturday, February 14th at 4 p.m.

#2 GSA Girls

• Play on Monday, February 16th at 8:30 p.m.  against the winner of the prelim game between #7 Sumner and #10 Central

#6 MDI Girls

• Play #3 Lawrence on Friday, February 13th at 7 p.m.

#4 MDI Boys

• Play #5 Ellsworth on Saturday, February 14th at 4 p.m.

#7 Sumner Girls

• Play a prelim against #10 Central on Tuesday, February 10th. If they win that game then they would play #2 GSA on Monday, February 16th at 8:30 p.m.

#6 Sumner Boys

• Play #3 Fort Kent on Monday, February 16th at 4 p.m.
