GSA Girls Basketball Team Wins Season Opener Against Calais

The GSA Girl's Basketball Team opened the season with a 42-24 win over Calais on Friday night, December 5th in Blue Hill.

The Eagles led 15-4 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 22-10 at the Half. They led 34-16 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

GSA had 3 players in double figures. Aurora Simmons had a game-high 14 points. Layla Hutchins had 11 points and Taylor Grego finished with 10 points. Halle Clifford had a 3-pointer. The Eagles were 5-10 from the free throw line.

Calais was led by Sarah Wentworth with 7 points, while Jordyn Craig had 5 points, including a 3-pointer. The Lady Blue Devils were 9-16 from the free throw line.

GSA, now 1-0 will play at Washington Academy on Monday, December 8th.

Calais, now 0-1 will take on the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx on Monday, December 8th.
