Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County (HVHC) is hosting a special retreat day to offer support and comfort for those who are grieving the death of a loved one on Saturday, September 22, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  With the theme "Weaving Healing & Hope in the Midst of Change" the retreat will feature activities to help participants learn new ways of weaving healing and hope into their daily lives.
Although each individual's grief process is unique, connecting with others who have had similar experiences can stimulate healing and relieve feelings of loneliness, hurt, sadness, anger and fear. This day-long bereavement retreat includes group support opportunities as well as sessions offering reflexology, energy healing, massage, and tools for self-care and stress relief.  Also on the program are a remembrance service with the Evensong singers, and a cookout lunch.
The retreat is offered free of charge and is open to anyone dealing with issues of grief and loss, though pre-registration is required by Tuesday, September 18.  It will be held at the HVHC offices, 14 McKenzie Avenue in Ellsworth.    For more information please call 667-2531
