Former Ellsworth Eagle Kate Whitney Becomes Machias High School Softball Coach

Kate Whitney, who graduated from Ellsworth High School in 2016 was named the Head Softball Coach of Machias High School on March 15th

Whitney attended Machias High School in grades 9-11 and was coached by her father, Patrick. Once she graduated from Ellsworth, Kate went to St. Joseph's College in Standish, graduating this past year, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

At St. Joseph College, Kate played softball for the Monks for 4 years, although the 2020 season was cut short because of COVID-19. She had a record of 18-22, striking out 107 for the Monks.

Kate is a first year teacher at Jonesport-Beals High School, teaching Aquaculture.
