Former Eagles Stevens and Hammer Have a Heck of a Game

While we are digging out from a blizzard, former Ellsworth Eagles Leah Stevens and Callie Hammer are playing softball in Florida for the UMaine Farmington Beavers. Stevens and Hammer went a combined 5-9 at the plate and Stevens was an absolute thief on the base paths stealing 4 bases as the Beavers beat Bethel (Minnesota) 16-10 on Monday March 12th.

Stevens played centerfield and batted leadoff going 2-5 with a walk, scoring a run. Hammer, starting as catcher was 3-4 with a double, driving in 2 runs.

UMaine Farmington is 1-3 on the young season and will play a doubleheader, while we shovel, on Wednesday, March 14th.
