The Brookside Restaurant gives culinary students at HCTC much needed practical experience. Normally students take turn preparing and serving the meal, so they receive "front" and "back" of the house experience. With COVID, now they're learning how to adapt on the fly.

Between the Culinary and Hospitality programs, Hancock County Technical Center is only graduating a few Seniors this year.

Nate, from Ellsworth High School, will be attending EMCC and majoring in Business management.  He has been doing the bulk of the curbside deliveries to your vehicles.  This summer he can be found either working at Hammond Lumber or Helen's Restaurant!

Behind the scenes doing the prep work, there has been:

Zoë, from Bucksport High School who will be attending SMCC, majoring in Culinary Arts.  She will be working for the Verona Island Lobster Co. this summer.

Zak, from Ellsworth High School, who will be attending EMCC, majoring in Culinary Arts. He will be working at the Union River Lobster Pot this summer.

Also working in the kitchen have been Dakota, a junior from MDIHS and Mckenzie, a homeschooled junior. They will be returning in the fall for a 3rd year and look forward to becoming true leaders in the Senior class! Both have been hired to work at the Nor'easter Restaurant this summer.

It's been small but might crew led by Mr. Baker, HCTC's Culinary Arts Instructor, Mrs. Bishoff, Culinary Ed Tech and Mrs. Mason, Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Instructor.
