Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th inning, newly-acquired Nathaniel Lowe hit a game-tying 2 run home run, and 1st as a Red Sox to tie the game with the Orioles 3-3 on Tuesday night, August 19th at Fenway Park. But Boston squandered chances in the 10th and 11th innings, and lost to Baltimore 4-3.

The loss was Boston's 3rd in a row, and 8th in their last 12 games.

Boston was 0-13 with runners in scoring position, and left 13 runners on base.

Walker Buehler managed to go only 4.0 innings, allowing 4 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 4 and walked 4.

Boston used 7 relief pitchers. They combined to hole Baltimore to just 2 hits and 2 runs. Garrett Whitlock took the loss and is 5-3 pitching the 11th inning.

Connor Wong was 2-4 with a pair of singles. Roman Anthony was 2-5 with a pair of singles.

Boston managed only 8 hits.
