Eovaldi Wins 1st Start of 2019 Red Sox Beat Rays 7-4 [VIDEO]

It took 155 games, but Nathan Eovaldi won his 1st start of 2019, as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 7-4 in Florida on Sunday afternoon, September 22nd.

Eovaldi went 6 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. He struck out 6, walking 2.

The Red Sox scored 4 runs in the 1st inning, as Christian Vazquez clubbed a 3 run homer to stake the Red Sox to an early lead. Vazquez ended up 3-5.

JD Martinez was 3-4 driving in 2 runs. Jackie Bradley Jr.had a double, his 25th of the season,

Prior to the game, the Red Sox announced that David Price will have surgery on his wrist Thursday in Boston. He is expected to be ready for Spring Training in 2020
