Ellswsorth Boys Defeat John Bapst 59-40

The Ellsworth Boys defeated the John Bapst Crusaders 59-40 in a game played at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor on Monday, January 27th.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 11-9 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Darby Barry had 5 points for Ellsworth with a 3-pointer. Jackson Curtis and Austin Harris had 2 points each while J'Von James was 2-2- from the free throw line. For the Crusaders Sam Ellis had 4 points, Rhett McDonald had a 3-pointer and Cayman Zephir had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth and John Bapst each scored 12 points, and Ellsworth led 23-21 at the end of the 1st Half. Jackson Curtis had 8 point for Ellsworth, Hunter Curtis had 2 points and Darby Barry 2 points. For the Crusaders, Rhett McDonald had 11 points with a 3-pointer. Sam Ellis had 1 point, going 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth broke the game open, outscoring The Crusaders 23-9 to take a 46-30 lead. J'Von James had 7 points with a 3-pointer. Jackson Curtis had 7 points and Hunter Curtis had 5 points. Austin Harris had 2 points for the Eagles. For the Crusaders Zephir had 5 points with a 3-pointer. Same Ellis had 3 points. Rhett McDonald was 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 4th QuarterJackson Curtis had 6 points, Hunter Curtis was 5-6 from the free throw line and Eamon McDonald had 2 point for Ellsworth. For John Bapst Rhett McDonald had 7 points and Corey Butler had a 3-pointer.

Ellsworth was led by Jackson Curtis with a game high 25 points. Hunter Curtis had 12 points. Ellsworth was 9-14 from the free throw line

John Bapst was led by Rhett McDonald with 21 points while Same Ellis had 9 points. The Crusaders were 2-5 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth, 12-3 is back in action on Tuesday, January 28th for Senior Night at Ellsworth High School, against the Foxcroft Academy Ponies with the pregame starting at 6:45 and tip-off at 7 with the game being broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA,on WDEA Internet Radio, on our free dowloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

John Bapst, 1-13 will play host to Orono on Tuesday, January 28th.
