Ellsworth’s Season Comes To An End

The Ellsworth Eagles Girl's Basketball Season came to an end on Tuesday, February 14th, falling to the John Bapst Crusaders 55-39 in a prelim game held at the Cross Insurance Center.

John Bapst jumped out to a 19-6 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter, and then led 30-20 at the end of the 1st Half. The Crusaders increased their lead to 40-26 at the end of the 3rd Quarter before winning 55-39.

Ellsworth was led by Senior Sammy Mason playing her final high school game, with 24 points. Katelynn Bagley had 5 points for the Eagles. Hannah Sargent and Mason each had a 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 9-16 from the free throw line.

John Bapst was led by Crystal Bell with 22 points and 3-3 pointers. Gracie Phillipon had 18 points. Abbey Legasse had 8 points with a 3-pointer. The Crusaders were 23-35 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth end the season with a 9-10 record. It was the final high school game for Kacie Omlor, Callie Hammer and Sammy Mason.

John Bapst, now 12-7 will play the second seed, the Presque Isle Wildcats on Saturday, February 18th at 9:05 AM.
