Ellsworth Varsity Boys Beat Mt. View 72-55 to Open the 2021-22 Season [STATS]

The Ellsworth Varsity Boys celebrated playing in fans for the 1st time since February 2020, beating the Mt. View Mustangs 72-55 at Katsiaficas Gymnasium on Saturday, December 11th, in the opening game of the 2021-22 season.

Ellsworth jumped out to 21-14 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. They extended their lead to 10 points at the end of the 1st Half, 34-24. It was 53-42 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Ellsworth had 3 players in double figures. Chance Mercier had a game-high 24 points to lead all scorers. Hunter Curtis finished with 23 point and Gage Hardy had 12 points. The Eagles were 16-23 from the free throw line. Ellsworth sank 2 3-pointers, 1 by Brett Bragdon and the other by Eamon MacDonald.

Mount View had 3 players in double figures. Declan Knowlton led the Mustangs with 18 points, while Noah Hurd had 14 points and Draedeyn Furrow had 12 points. The Mustangs were 10-19 from the free throw line and sank 3 3-pointers. Noah Hurd had 2 3-pointers and Tyler Russell sank the other.

Ellsworth is now 1-0 and will play host to MDI on Wednesday, December 15th at 7 p.m. Seating limitations will be in effect. We will have details Monday or Tuesday on these limitations.
