Ellsworth Junior Softball All-Stars Fall to Massachusetts 26-2

The Ellsworth Junior Softball Team fell to the Massachusetts Team 26-2 in the opening game of the Eastern Regional Junior Tournament, being held in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on Thursday, July 17th.

The Massachusetts Team put the game away scoring 15 runs in the 1st inning. They added 8 runs in the 2nd inning, 1 in the 3rd and 2 more runs in the 4th inning. The Ellsworth Juniors got on the scoreboard in the 4th inning.

The game was stopped at the end of the 4th inning because of the mercy rule.

Melodie Jacobs had the lone hit for Ellsworth.

Ellsworth will now have to fight their way out of the loser's bracket in the double-elimination tournament. They will play the loser of the GWA-Connecticut game on Friday, July 18th at 3 p.m. You can watch the live-stream HERE
