The Ellsworth Eagles Softball Team was without Coach Jake Hackett who was unable to attend the game due to work commitments, but they didn't miss a beat, crushing the Washington Academy Raiders on Monday, May 6th 21-0 in a mercy rule shortened game. Assistant Coach Jon Chipman managed the team and Athletic Director Josh Frost went into the dugout.

The Eagles batted around in the 1st inning, sending 20 batters to the plate and scoring 16 runs.

Freshman Tyler Hellum was in the circle for Ellsworth and had a no-hitter. She struck out 9 and just missed a perfect game, walking the first batter she faced in the 5th inning.

Trinity Montigny and Lexi Rossi each had 2 singles, Kayla Duhaime had a triple. Ellie Clarke and Isabelle Perry each had a double.  Sara Shea, Bailey Peterson, Taylor Clark  and Katie Hammer each had a single.

Ellsworth is now 4-1 on the season and will play host to Presque Isle in a doubleheader on Tuesday, May 7th at 12:30 and 2:30

Washington Academy is 0-5 and is scheduled to play John Bapst on Tuesday May 7th
